Spyderco Cara Cara Byrd Pocket Knife
The
knife company so closely associated with its spider logo has made a line of
knives based on an animal that eats spiders, namely birds. I am not sure
the logic to that, but I do know that these Byrd series knives are excellent
knives at a very affordable price, for people that want an inexpensive everyday
carry. The Cara Cara model is has a sizeable 3 7/8" blade made of 440C or
8Cr13MoV and comes in a CombinationEdge (partially serrated) or PlainEdge
version. The knife has a closed length of 4 3/4" and an overall length of 8
5/8". The handle and clip are stainless steel, and the handle has been
designed for a solid grip. The knife is for right handers and has a
removable clip that is designed for both tip up and tip down carry.
And this knife is unbelievable priced at only $29.00. That is a good
sized blade for the money. At that price you aren't scared to put it to
some tests to which you wouldn't volunteer some of your other blades. And the
knife does have an appealing look to it in large part to the uniquely shaped
sleek handle and the comet shaped hole in the blade.
Other knives in this series are the Meadowlark, Flight, Pelican, Crossbill
and Raven and Crow which are offered in black. You may also want to give a
look to the Crossbill knife in this series as it has a real aggressive look to
it due to its arching beak style blade.
