September 7, 2007
In
the tradition of Japanese artisans this beautiful damascus folder combines
natural design elements with expert craftsmanship to produce a elegance in a
custom styled look. This knife is a part of a series of nature inspired
knives, some of which feature bamboo, scale and layered looking handles.
This particular blade has a VG-10 core with a 33 layer nickel
based damascus, which provides a good edge with a beautifully styled blade
pattern. The handles are likewise solid Damascus. The knife features
a reliable teflon washered pin mechanism that can be opened with one hand as
well as a liner lock, ambidextrous usage, and decorative Japanese style pouch.
The blade is imprinted with "Mcusta Seki Japan". This
knife is produced as all of the Mcusta blades with laser cutting and CNC
machining unlike many production blades that are simply die stamped. Each
knife is hand assembled and inspected and is a testament to the fine
craftsmanship that has existed to for over eight centuries in this area of
Japan.
