D.H. Russell Lockblade
September 4, 2007
As
Grohmann Knives is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Original Canadian
Belt Knife, we take a look at another of their knives that is a redesign of an
old classic. The D.H. Russell Lockblade made its first appearance in 1963
for a small production run. The knife is now is back and should find a following
as not only a skinning knife as originally intended but also as a hunting,
fishing or camping knife. With an uncommon styling and a variety of handle
options, this knife has a certain retro appeal. The blade is an elliptical
design that curves at an angle counter to the handle that is unique and
instantly catches the eye.
The stainless steel blade is around 3 3/4", with an overall length of 8 3/4".
It features a simple nickel silver bolster, rivets, pins and liner. Buyers
can choose from the following handles: Rosewood, Wine Xtra Resinwood,
Black Linen Micarta, Natural Water Buffalo, and Natural Staghorn.
A with the other Grohmann Pocket and folder knives, this knife is gift boxed
and features a lifetime limited warranty and genuine leather belt sheath that is
handstitched.
