Case Snow Leopard Knife
September 5, 2007
The exotic stone handles on these recently released knives have been inspired
by the animal that has lends its name to these limited edition knives: the snow
leopard. The handles on these knives are made of mother of pearl and
Orbicular Jasper, which is given its name due to the many small spheres or
"orbs" located in the Jasper. These orbs appear as circles or spots when
this particular quartz is cut in sections. Thus the spotted snow leopard
is an apt name for this knife, with both the Case and the cat sharing spots and
and a unique beauty.
The blades are Case's Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades and the bolsters and
spacers are silver nickel, which help bring out the mother of pearl accents on
the handle. And a while this pattern is striking for any Case collector,
due to the orange and white hues of this particular pocket knife, I am sure this
knife will be finding many homes amongst Syracuse, Clemson, and UT sports fans,
who are more likely than most to see this as the perfect gift.
The knives are limited to 500 pieces of six different patterns. the
patterns available are six of W.R. Case's most popular: the Mini Muskrat,
Peanut, Small Stockman, Small Texas Toothpick, Tiny Trapper and Trapper.
A striped Jasper is also found naturally, which makes me wonder if we will
see a Snow Tiger in the future.
