Boker Knife with Unique Pocket Clip
September 23, 2007
Today
we take a look back at an award winning design from a few years back; a knife
that solved a problem that knife users had faced for years.
I am a big fan of the show "The Big Idea" on CNBC, which on many occasions
present inventors and entrepreneurs that have created a product or business
starting from a singular thought "there has to be a better way". That
ingenuity is very apparent in this particular designed clip by Robert Voros.
Many of us appreciate the pocket clip on our knife, until we are ready to deploy
the blade, then the clip becomes somewhat of a nuisance. Robert Voyos has
a patent pending design that solves this problem with a clip that disappears
into the handle until it is completely flush with the outside of the handle, as
the blade is opened.
Boker has brought this unique clip mechanism to the market in the form of the
Boker Clip Silver (Item No. 110550) and the Boker Clip Black (Item 110560),
winning a prestigious German IWA award for innovation in 2005. The knife
features an aluminum, handle and a 3" blade of 440C steel. With a
suggested retail price of $ 147.00, many knife enthusiasts will undoubtedly buy
this knife just to play with the unique mechanism. And the size and price
makes this a great everyday carry, so you can play with the clip mechanism
everywhere you go.
