Benchmade Mini Skirmish Blackwood Design
September 22, 2007
The Gold Class is Benchmade's high end designer series of offerings, and the
Mini Skirmish Model 635-60 is a fine example what this class of knives has to
offer. The unique look of this Blackwood design knife can be attributed to
a combination of the color anodized titanium scales and the pattern of small
circles that decorate the scales.
All the details come together on this knife to give it an eye catching look,
namely the heat colored removable clip, and matching pins. The locking
mechanism is a monolock. The blade is made of the premium steel S30V
and features a pewter finish. The blade length is 3.43" and the overall
length of the knife is 7.73". With a closed length of 4.3" and a with a
weight of 3.92 ounces this knife is a robust carry knife, yet much more suited
for every day carry than the Skirmish Model 630 which is around 50% heavier.
Additionally, in my opinion, this particular knife has much more artistic lines
and an overall better look that the full sized Skirmish. And at a retail
price of $ 325, you get quite a bit of knife for the money.
