Benchmade Apparition 670 Osborne Design
This knife fits my definition of an extremely attractive modern gentleman
knife. The sleek styling and the Kudu horn styled scale handles are
beautifully accented against the 154CM stainless steel blade. This knife
is simply a perfect balance of design and modern beauty.
And in the tradition of Benchmade, you have a lot of choices from which to
choose to help you pick the perfect Apparition knife for you. You can
choose between spring assist or manual opening. The 670 model comes with a
plain edge, but you can also choose from the 670S with a ComboEdge blade.
And while I do prefer the look of the stainless blade, the knife can also be
purchased as a limited edition Moteng version with a black coated blade, black
screws and sandblasted bolsters with the Plain Edge (model 670BK-503) or the
ComboEdge (model 670SBK-503) Limited editions will probably fair better as
collector items, but the stainless is so striking against the black handles.
Want another option? Good, because Benchmade has provided one. A
model 670BK-600 with the black coated blade, black hardware, and olive drab
Micarta Scale. This particular knife is limited to 400 pieces and is the
highest priced knife of the bunch at $222.00.
If you are buying for collectibility, yes go with the limited edition.
If you are buying as an everyday carry, or as a present for someone you know is
going to use it, I would have to go with the standard 670 or 670S; it is just is
a striking knife.
Kudos Benchmade, this Kudu horn styled beauty will no doubt find a itself in
a lot of hands.
