25th Anniversary Remington Bullet Knife
September 2, 2007
During the first half of the 20th century, Remington knives were one of the
nations leading manufacturers of knives, with a wide array of styles and models,
none as famous as the original Bullet knives. These knives though became a
casualty of was as Remington decided to move to only producing for the military
during World War II. Revamped in 1982, the Bullet collector knives have
become a favorite of Remington knife collectors, and this 25th Anniversary knife
will no doubt be snapped up quickly by bullet collectors.
Ironically enough, this Silver Anniversary knife is a called by Remington
their special Gold version. This is due to the decorative Gold plated
anniversary shield inset into the handle on which is engraved "25 years", and
engraved bolsters. The tangs are numbered 1 through 500 and the two
blades, one 3.5" spey blade, and one 3" clip blade, feature the imprints
"Remington trademark" and "Bullet Knife, Silver Anniversary, 1982-2007"
respectively.
The knife features nickel silver pins, brass liners, Cocobolo wood handles
and a lanyard hole. The knife comes packaged in green tin that chronicles
the joy of Remington bullet knife collecting with each of the past knives
pictured circling the outside of the tin.
The Remington website also shows this same knife pictured with a nickel
silver bolster and rivets, and a Green jig bone handle, all with the same
identifying marks.
